Rostrum Records and Justin Strong Present bring you the 2nd Season of Spirit Sessions, Pittsburgh's Premier monthly live open mic and stage.

This season we move the event to the Hall on the 2nd Floor of Spirit. Still happening on every THIRD WEDNESDAY of the month. Plus SPIRIT SESSIONS ARE NOW 18+OVER!
The goal of the night is provide a stage for artistic and social expression, and help facilitate the next wave of talent to hit the scene.

Poets, Vocalists, MCs, Musicians, Comedians....all are welcomed.
Rock with the band or without; NO PRERECORDED TRACKS.
We highly suggest you learn your music. At the very least the chord structures. To save time bring charts if you can.

A Quick Word About Nardo:

Born Bernard Calvin Eure III, singer, songwriter, emcee, and producer Nardo Says came of age in Norfolk, Virginia where he began singing in church. Always the creative, he learned how to play the drums as a teenager and started writing poems in high school which later turned to raps. Under the name Bobby Blunt, he released a series of EPs that grabbed attention. However, he wanted to incorporate a melodic sound that utilized singing and harmonies more than the hard rhymes and beats people expected from him. Out of that want to explore more, Nardo Says was created to represent growth as both a man and an artist. Now with releases like “A Mind’s Canvas“, “Side A“, “Possibilities“, and soon to be released "You Still Do Music" his sound continues to develop and evolve.

For the first half of the night (8:30p-10p), there will be 10 slots. Each slot gets to do 2 pieces and/or 7 mins of stage time.
For the second half of the night (10:30p-12a), there will be 11 slots.
Each slot gets to do 1 piece and/or 4.5 mins of stage time.
Use your stage time to perform, save the autobiographies for bar talk while we're mingling after the open mic.
