Stomping Grounds: Street Dance Festival is an annual celebration of street dance culture in Pittsburgh, PA, and the surrounding region, inviting the most talented dancers the scene has to offer for a weekend of festival-exclusive guest workshops, networking with industry renewed professionals, and an epic 1v1 Open Styles dance battle to cap the weekend of events from September 25th-27th 2025.
In our 5th year, Make Sure You Have Fun™ and Level Up Studios are teaming up to kick off Stomping Grounds Month with a special pre-pre-pre-party. This event will bring together some of Pittsburgh's top DJs spinning Hip-Hop, Juke (Footwork), House, Jersey Club, B-More Club, and Krump records, alongside some of Pittsburgh's most talented dancers who will bring these styles to life on the dance floor with you. The night will feature a special Krump cypher and showcase by STEELBUCK, the city's most renowned Krump collective.
Whether you're a Stomping Grounds OG or a new comer interested in the DJ and street dance scenes in Pittsburgh, this event is your change to experience it all ahead of the official festival weekend later this month.

DJ Yamez
Hailing from Brooklyn, NYC, Yamez is a revered DJ and producrer who has been active in the music industry for over two decades. He has worked with countless esteemed artists including Trey Songz, Azealia Banks, and Nas, and had performed all over the world. Specializing in Trap, EDM, and Hip-Hop, Yamez has won multiple DJ battles and performed at parties and events ranging from MTV to BMW to unforgettable nights at Webster Hall. He has held residen- cies at clubs like Marquee, The DL, and Pacha, among many more and has toured the globe supporting a wide variety of artists.
Yamez first kicked off his career in the early 2000s, winning several DJ battles along the East Coast before being noticed by a legendary group of DJs known as the X-Ecutioners, which included Grandmas- ter Roc Raida. From there, he went on tour with the group, sharing the stage with hit artists such as T.I., the Ying Yang Twins, and the Clipse, earning his credit as an up and coming talent. By 2010, Yamez was on tour with Trey Songz for his Chapter V tour as the official DJ, and would send himself on the road again in 2015, alongside Azealia Banks. In total he has performed in fifteen differ- ent countries, impressing audiences around the world with his DJ skills. Other acts he had toured alongside over the years include French Montana, Usher, and Maroon 5 amongst countless others as he has established himself as a music industry veteran.
In recent years, Yamez has showcased his talents at New York’s most revered venues and has built a loyal fanbase. He is a one of a kind DJ who never disappoints and always leaves a lasting impres- sion. Currently has radio shows and mix series on MSYH.FM and Daily Bread Radio.
